(Crisp) Movie Review: NIKITA ROY by FENIL SETA

Nikita Roy features Sonakshi Sinha in the lead and is directed by her brother Kussh S Sinha. The original story is by Pavan Kirpalani of Ragini MMS and Phobia fame and it is very promising. It is about murder, investigation and a dash of the supernatural. Hence, it had the chance of becoming the surprise of the season. However, the script is bad while the direction is unexciting. The climax, though interesting, is predictable. The jump scares are barely scary. Sonakshi Sinha yet again proves that she’s a fine performer and can nicely shoulder a film if given a chance. Paresh Rawal is top-notch as the villain. Suhail Nayyar gives a wonderful performance. Arjun Rampal is lovely in a cameo. Kallirroi Tziafeta (Freya) leaves a huge mark. All in all, Nikita Roy is a great idea gone wrong.
