While she has established herself in the film industry, actor Saiyami Kher recently opened up about being asked to “compromise” for a role in a Telugu film early on in her career.

Saiyami, who was recently seen in Jaat, was asked whether she had ever encountered a casting couch in her career. In response, the 32-year-old shared, “I have been very fortunate with regards to all the offers I have received. [But], there was this one female agent who called me for a Telugu film when I was 19 or 20 years old. She said, ‘You know, you will have to make compromises’.”

“It was a woman saying it to another woman, so I felt that deeply,” she recalled during a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, adding, “So I said, ‘Ma’am, I’m not understanding what you are saying.’ I kept repeating that. Finally, I told her, ‘I’m sorry that you feel I’m someone who needs to go down this route. There are certain limits I have never crossed in my life’.”
