A Minecraft Movie has received mostly mixed and negative reviews in the West. Hence, I went with minimal expectations. But the film turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The makers waste no time and pack a lot in just 100 minutes. There are tons of comic moments and a few of them will bring the house down in cinemas. The characters are bizarre and that adds to the madness. On the flipside, the villain is weak and a few developments are very convenient. The finale fight ends a bit quickly. Jason Momoa steals the show with his antics, comic timing and outlandish costumes. Jack Black leaves a mark. Sebastian Hansen (Henry), Emma Myers (Natalie) and Danielle Brooks (Dawn) lend able support. Jennifer Coolidge (Vice Principal Marlene) is the surprise of the film. All in all, A Minecraft Movie is an ideal family entertainer and worth watching in cinemas.
