How it started
The controversy stems from a complaint filed by Ashokan, a resident of Puducherry, who alleged that a Coimbatore-based firm defrauded him and 10 others of Rs. 2.4 crore through a cryptocurrency investment scheme. Ashokan claimed that he was invited to the company’s launch event in 2022, which Tamannaah attended, and a subsequent function in Mahabaleshwar attended by actor Kajal Aggarwal. These high-profile appearances reportedly lent credibility to the firm’s operations, influencing investors’ decisions.
As of now, Kajal has not publicly addressed the allegations, and the Puducherry police have not issued an official statement regarding the involvement of either actor.
This case is part of a broader investigation into cryptocurrency scams in the region.
