Marking his podcast debut on nephew Arhaan Khan’s Dumb Biryani, actor Salman Khan gave a rare insight into his time spent in prison. While discussing the importance of hard work and discipline, he emphasized that making excuses, such as needing sleep, act as obstacles to success.
“‘I am tired’. No, get up, no matter how tired you are. ‘I don’t get sleep’. Don’t sleep. Do something; you’ll automatically go to sleep. I sleep for two hours, and then, once a month, I sleep for seven hours. On some days, I get a five-minute break between shots, so I sleep on the chair. In places where I cannot do anything, like when I was in jail, I slept. When it comes to your work or family, the effort that you need to keep putting in... you just need to be there for friends, family and work,” Salman said.
A SCARY FLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Salman also recalled a horrifying moment when his flight experienced major turbulence for almost 45 minutes: “We were coming back from Sri Lanka. Everyone was laughing, and suddenly, there was turbulence. At first, it seemed normal, but then the noise grew louder, and the entire flight went silent. The turbulence continued for 45 minutes. I looked at the air hostess, and she was praying. That’s when I thought, ‘Arey baap re!’ Then, the oxygen masks dropped, and I thought, ‘I’ve only seen this happen in films’. After 45 minutes, things settled, and everyone went back to normal.”
SALMAN TO ARHAAN: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO NOT KNOW HINDI
When Salman asked Arhaan and his friends their motive behind doing the podcast, they revealed that it was “just a passing passion”. The actor said, “You guys should first do all this in Hindi”. Arhaan’s friend replied, “Inko Hindi nahin aati”, pointing at Arhaan. When Salman asked them to speak in Hindi, Arhaan joked, “Hindi classes, Hindi tutor, practise karo”. So, Salman said, “You should be ashamed of yourselves if you guys don’t know Hindi. You have to cater to the audience that understands Hindi”.
