Sky Force Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar's Film Sees Drop After Monday Slump
Box Office India Trade Network

SKY FORCE showed a number of 7.5 crore nett apprx on Monday which now takes the film total of 71 crore nett. It is pretty much the same story as the weekend with the bookings continuing at various multiplexes across the country. You cant even say where the film will end up at the end of the week as one is sure whether this will continue or be eased out or maybe, even get more aggressive.

If we take out all this external stuff, then the film also has a fair hold in organic collections on Monday as the first day had heavily discounted tickets and from those collections, its actually a decent hold on Monday with the problem being that the level of collections is too low. This is basically because its promoted as a patriotic film but without the commercial elements. Hence, those mass circuits have not responded to the film. The Republic Day was better but that is a huge holiday and its bound to get an audience in mass pockets as well.

Basically because of the film being a patriotic film but not for the masses, it has struggled for an audience. The film is probably in the zone of another Akshay Kumar film AIRLIFT but that was pre pandemic and a different box office scenario where the bigger centers alone could give you a good total. This shift in the box office is the main reason for this huge downturn within the film industry and for films to work, the makers need to know the pulse of this mass audience. But the generation of makers who worked this way are not there today and the new generation does not have a clue.

As for what number the film ends up with, that is unknown but eventually wherever it goes, it will be just a number.

The numbers of SKY FORCE are as follows.
Friday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 26,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 71,00,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------------------
SKY FORCE numbers showed a big drop on Tuesday though the organic collections of the film were pretty much like the day before but at low levels. The number for Tuesday was 5.50 crore nett which now takes the film to a number of 76.50 crore nett.

Again on Wednesday, there was huge drops at some cinemas but some cinemas actually showed huge gains from the previous days. The external help, which started on day one, continues for the film though it eased off on Tuesday it was probably for the least amount since release. It is still hard to predict the week as you don't know how this is going to play out

It remains to be see if the external help remains over the weekend and this may affect the new release also as shows will have to be maintained. This is the only thing really to be seen for this film as if the film goes clean in the second weekend, it will not really serve the need as collections will not end up high enough even allowing for that 20% extra push in media. So, this means odds are in favour of external help in second weekend also but that remains to be seen.
