WILL RAM CHARAN AND SONU SOOD BRING CHEER AT THE BEGINNING OF 2025?
2025's major releases are all set to release tomorrow and the excitement is there, though it's not tremendous.
The biggest release of the week is Game Changer. It's a Telugu film directed by Shankar and stars Ram Charan, Kiara Advani and S J Suryah. It is about an honest IAS officer and what happens when he takes on corrupt people. The promotional campaign has been a long one. The teaser was released long back followed by songs and interestingly, the trailer was released only last week.
The Telugu version of Game Changer is expected to open with a bang. In Hindi, the buzz is limited. But awareness is there and hence, the opening will be around Rs. 3-4 crores. What will aid the film is the lack of competition. Pushpa 2 has been exhausted and the audience has been waiting to see a new film. Moreover, Ram Charan has become popular in the Hindi-speaking market with RRR. The other actor of the film, Jr NTR, also benefited from it as Devara opened at Rs. 7.50 crores. Game Changer, however, will open at a lesser number due to the absence of a hit song and limited hype.
If Game Changer gets a positive response, the collections can jump big time and then it can have a clean run until January 24.
The other release of the week is Fateh. It stars Sonu Sood and also features him as a director and producer. It deals with cybercrime and showcases Sonu as a killing machine. Jacqueline Fernandez and Naseeruddin Shah also star in this action entertainer.
Sadly, the film hasn't excited the audience. It also looks similar to Animal and like Game Changer, it also suffers due to lack of a hit soundtrack. It is expected to open at Rs. 1 crore.
