Singham Again: Rohit Shetty Reveals Why Ranveer Singh And Deepika Padukone Had No Scenes Together - "It Would Have Gone Wrong For Us"
Box Office India Trade Network

SINGHAM AGAIN did very well on Monday as it collected 17.50 crore nett which is 56% drop from the first day and first day was a national holiday. But again, its the holiday factor in Maharashtra and Gujarat and the film is getting strong numbers in these parts. The Monday collections in Mumbai circuit may well end up at around 9 crore nett which many films have not done on day one post pandemic.

The four day numbers of the film are almost 129 crore nett which is good total but this Mumbai circuit factor will come out over the next few days and the film could see drops which are bigger than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 as SINGHAM AGAIN has a higher ratio in Mumbai circuit. The first week business for SINGHAM AGAIN is probably going towards the 155 crore nett mark and then it remains to be seen where it goes from there.

If we take out Mumbai circuit, then the falls are generally more than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and that is the issue for the film and the collections of the film will probably go lower than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 as Mumbai circuit drops further. Also being an action film, it becomes front loaded unless the reports are very good which is not the case here.

Mumbai circuit has easily crossed 50 crore nett in four days with a clash and that is the bright spot for the film. Despite BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 being a comedy film on Diwali, the Gujarat area has gone towards SINGHAM AGAIN by a margin but a film like this needs more than one circuit to do well however big that circuit is.

The collections of SINGHAM AGAIN till date are as follows.
Friday - 40,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 38,25,00,00 apprx
Sunday - 33,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 17,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,28,75,00,000 apprx
-----------------------------------------------------
SINGHAM AGAIN collected 13.50 crore nett on Tuesday which is a good number allowing for the 25% apprx drop which was always coming due to the holiday factor. The drop on Wednesday will probably be more as Gujarat comes out of holiday period. The film is doing well enough at the box office in terms of trend. Its just that the numbers are not big enough for the budget of the film.

The five day numbers of the film are 142 crore nett and that is just 10% better than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and the gap had to be more. This gap is mainly due to the weekend as on weekdays, both films are registering similar collections. The film held a little better in the North on Tuesday as compared to BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 as collections were lower but Mumbai circuit showed a bigger drop though here collections are far better than the horror comedy.

The film has 142 crore nett up on the board in five days which is good considering clash as the other film itself is having a further 131 crore nett. But the fact remains that while these numbers are good enough for BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3, in terms of costs, they are not good enough for SINGHAM AGAIN. A film like BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 could see its biggest drop on Wednesday as the holiday factor practically goes out of the equation and it could come down into single digits.

The film is probabaly looking at a first week of around 158 crore nett which is good but as mentioned before, it is probably 25% less than it should be in terms of the costs of the film.

The collections of SINGHAM AGAIN till date are as follows.
Friday - 40,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 38,25,00,00 apprx
Sunday - 33,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 17,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,42,25,00,000 apprx

SINGHAM AGAIN did well on Wednesday as it picked up 10 crore nett plus which is a drop of 25% though it could have been more as Gujarat came down heavily as the holiday period ended there and collections can still come down further here as the film has already put up huge numbers. The total collections of the film stand 152 crore nett after six days.

This means that the collections of the film should end the week at around 160 crore nett which is a good number though not for its costs and it is mainly driven by Mumbai circuit. It remains to be seen how it goes in the second week as some circuits are showing low numbers be it Delhi/UP, East Punjab or West Bengal and even mass circuits like CI and Rajasthan are feeling the heat.

There are certain shenanigans with the box office of the film over the last two days and a bit like what was happening with SALAAR as today, the industry is much creative with these sort of things rather than the content of the film. This could even make the first week total come out higher like SALAAR depending on this creativity. Eventually at some point, all this will settle but its not known when that will happen.

SINGHAM AGAIN has done well in its first as it collected 161 crore nett with good first week collections in places like Mumbai and CP Berar which are holding well even on the last day of the week. The film should have got higher numbers but its the clash which has not let the film get the needed numbers in the first week. There may seem to be drops on weekdays but these are decent holds post Diwali and the first week number is actually higher than you would have expected on Monday.

This problem for the film is the trend is less than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 since Monday despite a better weekend and that means its likely that the second week will be less than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3. The last day saw a noticeable gap in favour of BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 between the two films for the first time since release.

Overall, SINGHAM AGAIN has done pretty well in its first week but today these films have huge expectations and the film has not matched those expectations. These films are expected to be Blockbuster/Super Hit but that will not happen here as there is a limit to to the business you can do after week one and also the trend is not there for the film. SINGHAM AGAIN may turn out to be an AVERAGE fare but even that depends on the business over the next ten days or so and this decent run has to be maintained.

SINGHAM AGAIN held up well on its second Friday with business of around 8 crore nett which is a 10% drop from the previous day. The drop is also mainly because of the Maharashtra area coming down which meant bigger drops in places like Mumbai circuit and CP Berar. This takes the collections of the film to almost 170 crore nett.

This lesser performing areas like East Punjab and NCR hardly showed drops from Thursday. The Friday hold is solid due to the holiday week but as its been a huge holiday week, its unlikely Saturday will show those huge jumps when holdovers double or go up 70-80%. The growth should be there but not at the level of STREE 2 or KALKI 2898 AD and this will be case for BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 as well.

The hold points at an easy 50 crore nett week for the film but as mentioned above, the Saturday growth may not be like it was for other films and then Monday, the holiday period will be totally over all across the country. So, that 50 crore nett will be much harder. The business to come will be determined by where the film settles on the second Monday. The film has done very well in Mumbai circuit but it probably had to do more if it was to emerge an outright winner as Diwali this circuit gets the biggest boost.

SINGHAM AGAIN showed good growth of around 50% on its second Saturday and collected 12 crore nett plus which now takes the film to 182 crore nett. The growth is good on Saturday but less than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 which is always likely due to BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 being comfortably better now in the bigger multiplexes and metro cities.

Thie second weekend so far is 20 crore nett and it should do a 34-35 crore nett second weekend which is a solid number. The film is holding well enough and will run through November and the Saturday number confirms the film is successful; it should turn out to be an AVERAGE fare. It should have done better but generally the numbers are not there outside Mumbai circuit. Actually that is the wrong way to put it, the numbers are there but they are not good enough.

Basically if the film had beaten BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 in the rest of the country as well like it has in Mumbai circuit, then SINGHAM AGAIN would also have been a HIT or SUPER HIT film.

SINGHAM AGAIN recorded a good second weekend collecting 34 crore nett which takes the film to 195 crore nett but the film will see lower collections from here as its end of the holiday season. The film managed to show better growth than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 on Sunday as it has a higher ratio of business from mass centres and Gujarat was one of the areas to show growth on Sunday.

The film now stands at a huge 85 crore nett in Mumbai circuit and should finish at around 100 crore nett which is pretty similar to the business of the likes of DANGAL and PK. But on the other side, most other circuits are seeing numbers less than BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and in the likes of East Punjab and West Bengal, there will be quite a big difference.

Overall, the numbers still lead BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 but the gap is coming down day by day and it could be in terms of lifetime business that BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 could go ahead by a small margin. Basically, some circuits were always going to be better for BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 but the surprise is the likes of Bihar, CP, CI and Rajasthan where SINGHAM AGAIN is already behind and by the end of run its sure to be behind in all these circuits.
