Actor Krystle Dsouza loves to get creative and imaginative in her dressing, and so, it’s not surprising that Halloween is one of her favourite festivals.

“I like doing different things each year. It was not about scaring people this year, though I have done that previously. This time, I wanted to do something with my girls and we decided on a ‘Disney princesses’ theme with a party twist. I was Snow White,” she shares, adding that with Diwali and Halloween coinciding, she celebrated the latter in advance so that she could celebrate the festival of lights with her family and friends. However, the double celebration today has left her with a very deep concern: “I don’t know if I should go out and scare people or look like a pataakha.”

Dsouza says that she was introduced to Halloween through American films and TV shows. “They used to fascinate me and I’ve been celebrating Halloween for many years now. Also, my brother lives in Canada, where it is celebrated in a big way.”

The actor asserts that Halloween is not about expensive looks. “Halloween is not about looking your best in an expensive outfit. Today, people are making it about designer wear and better make-up, but that’s not the point of Halloween. It has always been about DIY looks and that’s how I like it,” she says, adding that she wants to dress up as Wonder Woman next.
