STREE 2 had another good hold on its fourth Friday as it fell just 15% from the previous day and collected 4.25 crore nett. The trend is different from previous Fridays as the previous Fridays have not seen drops. There was not much competition again as the only major release was Tamil dubbed film THALAPATHY IS THE G.O.A.T. and that came on Thursday. However, it was not even good forget about G.O.A.T. STREE 2 also goes past the 500 crore nett mark on the third Friday and should become the second highest grosser after its fourth weekend.

The film is chasing the JAWAN total of 554 crore nett which is the highest ever but despite having a stronger trend than JAWAN post the first week, the fourth Friday is lower than the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, which collected 4.75 crore nett. There is not much difference but it means that this week its unlikely that STREE 2 will continue to cut the gap on JAWAN.

The total collections of STREE 2 are almost 504 crore nett and it has to get another 50 crore nett plus to get over JAWAN (Hindi). The chances are there for the film but its going to the wire. With Cinema Day likely on September 20, it should give edge to STREE 2.

STREE 2 stands in fourth position as the highest Hindi grosser at present and is now aiming at the top position. The film needs another 50 crore nett and basically has all of September to reach its target as generally its an empty month with no major release. There are a few releases but nothing really to change the trajectory of a film like STREE 2.

Despite the dull box office, there are now five films above the 500 crore nett mark and basically its a huge jump for the better films as they benefit from less of the audience venturing out for poor or moderate content. This enables the better product to benefit as the audience is waiting for that film and this year STREE 2 is that film so far.

The film still needs another 50 crore nett to reach JAWAN and getting this much up from the fourth week onward is no easy task and very few films have managed it. URI is best at over 70 crore nett and JAWAN (Hindi) is probably the only other original Hindi film to do 50 crore nett after week three. Basically, the range for STREE 2 at the moment looks 550-565 crore nett and that is assuming the National Cinema Day is there on the sixth Friday.

STREE 2 crossed the 510 crore nett mark on its fourth Saturday as it collected 8 crore nett which was a jump of around 85%. The film will become the top original Hindi film in Mumbai circuit by the end of business on Sunday and maybe even go past KGF - CHAPTER 2. Its the South dubbed films BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and KGF - CHAPTER 2 which occupy the tops spots in this circuit. BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION number is unreachable.

The film collected less than JAWAN (Hindi) on its fourth Friday and that has been repeated again on fourth Saturday and the film is down 1 crore nett on JAWAN (Hindi) in its fourth week so far. STREE 2 was down 2 crore nett on JAWAN (Hindi) after three weeks but that gap has now extended to 3 crore nett. JAWAN has the highest fourth weekend ever which means STREE 2 collections are still phenomenal.

So, at the moment, it is not cutting the gap in the fourth week but there is the Sunday to come and JAWAN (Hindi) did not grow much on the Sunday. If STREE 2 does a repeat of its other Sundays, then the weekend will come out as much as JAWAN (Hindi) if not more. STREE 2 will become the second highest grossing film today as it beats the numbers of GADAR 2 and that is mainly down to South as although STREE 2 has underperformed there, it is still far better than the Sunny Deol-starrer.
