STREE 2 set a new record for the second weekend as it became the first film to go over 90 crore nett and the second Sunday was also the highest going past the Sunday of GADAR 2. The film stands at 387 crore nett in 11 days and will hit the 400 crore nett mark today (Monday). The mass pockets have gone crazy again on Sunday with Rajasthan at 2 crore nett plus, Gujarat/Saurashtra going to 5 crore nett and even a East Punjab going well over 4 crore nett.

The big growth on Sunday was also because the night shows did not show the normal fall due to the Holiday today for Janmashtami. The second weekend numbers also show far business has come for the right film as the 100 crore nett barrier for the second weekend is not too far while pre pandemic, a 100 crore nett second week was a task.

STREE 2 looks on course for the 500 crore nett mark at the moment but Tuesday is the key as so far the film started with a holiday and then it was the weekend, post that there was the Raksha Bandhan period followed by the second weekend and now there's Janmashtami. The film will come down to lower levels on Tuesday and its about what are these levels. The field is pretty much open through September so the numbers will continue to add but that Tuesday level is important.

STREE 2 got the benefit of Janmashtami as collections went up in Gujarat/Saurashtra and parts of the Central belt as compared to Friday. North (Delhi/UP and East Punjab) was pretty much the same as Friday while there were minor drops in other places as even here the holiday helped.

The film collected a huge 18 crore nett to take its second week total to 111 crore nett. The highest second week total ever is the 142 crore nett of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION which maybe a tall order. But it depends on the hold over the next few days as the film will come down to lower levels. But there's no doubt that the film will have the second highest second week ever.

So far the film has only seen 4 days under 20 crore nett and even those are only a little under 20 crore nett. Basically every single day so far is higher than the opening day of all films released this year outside KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) and FIGHTER. The film also crossed the 400 crore nett mark on Monday as it stands at 405 crore nett and it should cross KGF - CHAPTER 2 (Hindi) by the end of the week which will make it the sixth highest Hindi grosser ever. It will go higher in the rankings and challenge the 500 crore nett films.

STREE 2 has taken its worldwide total to 584 crore and will cross the 600 crore mark in a day or two. This is easily the highest total of the year beating 402 crore of KALKI 2898 AD (Hindi) and if we take original Hindi films, then FIGHTER is way back at 340 crore.

Obviously there is the all format version of KALKI 2898 AD which has closed at a phenomenal 1000 crore worldwide but that is comparing apples with oranges and the better comparison for STREE 2 is the Hindi version. The India business is outstanding but overseas is also excellent. The film could finish up with $14-15 million and maybe even more which is a huge result for the film in overseas. All territories are excellent.

The worldwide numbers will easily cross 700 crore and maybe even cross the 750 crore mark which would make it the fourth highest grosser ever worldwide after JAWAN, PATHAAN and ANIMAL.
