Satyadeep Misra and his wife, designer-actress Masaba Gupta, are all set to become parents. In an exclusive chat with us, Satyadeep, who is self-admittedly a private person, spoke about his work, fatherhood and more.

Satyadeep and Masaba announced the pregnancy in April this year. He reveals that the baby is expected in October. 

“There are still a couple of months until the baby arrives. It’s a happy mix of anxiety and excitement. I have no idea what to expect, as everyone’s journey is their own. This has occupied me for most of this year, everything else has taken a backseat,” he says.

The Vikram Vedha actor reveals that Masaba told him about the pregnancy this year in February. “She thinks I will make a good father, and we are both excited about this new phase in our lives,” he shares.

Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra joyfully revealed their impending parenthood on social media, posting a heartfelt announcement. Their Instagram post showcased a series of photos, adorned with emojis and a monochrome portrait reflecting their love. Celebrities like Kriti Sanon and Shilpa Shetty showered them with warm wishes. Their wedding in 2023 was shared with the world through captivating photos.

On the professional front, Satyadeep admits that the way he picks his projects has evolved over the years. “I wouldn’t say that I’ve figured out how to strike that balance, but I haven’t been choosy lately. The truth is that your trajectory as an actor, regardless of how good or bad you are, depends a lot on how well your projects do commercially. You need to have projects that do well frequently, that’s something that keeps you in the public eye,” says the actor who will soon be seen in the second season of the web show Tanaav.

Satyadeep began his acting career in 2011, after being a lawyer for 10 years. Talking about the switch, the actor who has been a part of films Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Phobia and web shows like Masaba Masaba and Mukhbir, says, “The shift to acting had a lot more to do with getting away from a job that I didn’t enjoy. Over the years, I realised that I love being on set. It’s a big high. But I’ve also realised that there is a lot more that needs to go into becoming a successful actor.”

He elaborates, “You have to be a bit more social and outgoing. You need to be seen more as that affects the amount of work that you get. Many people who have huge Instagram following get cast because they remain in people’s headspace a lot more.”
