Filmmaker Om Raut’s Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, faced widespread criticism and underperformed at the box office. Nevertheless, in a recent interview on Amol Parchure’s YouTube channel, Raut defended the film and claimed that it had suffered from misleading perceptions.
The filmmaker also asserted that the film had “actually performed well” financially. Emphasizing that stars like Prabhas and Salman Khan are “flop-proof,” thanks to their star power, he said, “Ups and downs can’t affect them because the audiences’ love for them is beyond comprehension.”
Regarding the film’s performance, Raut revealed that Adipurush earned Rs. 70 crore on its first day in India alone, with a total box office gross exceeding Rs. 400 crore. He noted, “The numbers were substantial… With Adipurush, it was a loss of perception, not revenue. If the perception had been positive and under control, we would have seen much higher numbers, which was disappointing.”
