I don’t mind it: Shefali Jariwala on paparazzi clicking her from behind

Actor Shefali Jariwala remains unfazed by trolls, including the attention she receives from paparazzi. Recently, her remark on a podcast, “I work bloody hard on my a**. So, if it looks good, I don’t mind [being clicked from behind],” went viral. Talking to us, Jariwala says that unlike many female actors who don’t like being clicked from behind, she embraces the attention.

“I work very hard on my body, so if somebody appreciates it, I am okay. You can’t hide your posterior or wear an abaya and step out,” she says.

The 41-year-old says she hasn’t yet found any objectionable or vulgar videos of her. “I’m confident that if something like that (a video she’s uncomfortable with) ever comes out, I share the equation to tell the pap to take it down and they would. There is mutual respect,” says Jariwala.

She adds, “They (paps) are not bad people, they are just doing their job and putting out what the audience wants. Everyone wants to go viral.”

Ask her about the female actors who object to being clicked from behind, and Jariwala says, “To each their own. Is saying ‘peeche se mat lena’ going to control anybody? Even regular people can click such pics and you can’t control them all. Yes, if something is objectionable, it’s important to say what you feel.”
