Fawad to make Bollywood comeback after eight years

HINDUSTAN TIMES (July 5, 2024)

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is reportedly set to make his Bollywood comeback after eight years with a rom-com. Khan will star opposite actor Vaani Kapoor in an untitled film, which will be directed by Aarti Bagdi and shot entirely in the UK. No official announcement has been made yet, but the makers are expected to make the announcement right before filming begins.

The film follows two broken people who come together by a stroke of luck and fall in love. It is set to go on floors this September and is expected to wrap by November.

Khan has appeared in three Bollywood films, including Khoobsurat (2014), Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (both 2016). However, after the Uri terror attack in 2016, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) and the Film Producers Guild of India banned Pakistani artistes, including Khan, from working in India as political relations between the two countries deteriorated. The ban was finally lifted by the Bombay High Court last October.
