CHANDU CHAMPION showed good growth of 80% on its second Saturday as the film went over 40 crore nett and took its total to 41 crore nett. The collections remain low and the second week will be curtailed by the release of KALKI 2898 AD on Thursday.

The drop in the second week is looking at around 50% which is actually not that bad. But the problem is that the first week itself is low. Here, the drop has to be much less than 50% and it had to work like a content films and 20-30% drop on the week. The film is now behind MUNJYA across the country except Delhi/Punjab though it is still poor here while Mysore circuit can be called so so.

CHANDU CHAMPION showed a good trend in its second weekend dropping 35% from the first weekend as it collected around 13 crore nett and this takes the film to 48 crore nett in ten days. But the problem is the first week pretty much sealed the fate of the film as barring some multiplexes of the big centres, the appreciation is not there.

Despite this hold the second week is still looking to be below films like CREW and TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA. Overall, the collections are not really going anywhere. There have been films like LAAPTAA LADIES, MADGAON EXPRESS and SWATANTRYA VEER SAVARKAR which looked FLOPS after the initial  weeks but managed to survive and go a little higher.

But that was because it was an open field and no films were coming. As a result, these films continued adding week after week but here it is a bit different as July has many releases and the first one KALKI 2898 AD is all set to take a good opening.
