Zaira Wasim on father’s death: Please remember him in your prayers

Former actress Zaira Wasim on Wednesday announced the demise of her father Zahid Waseem and requested fans to remember him in their prayers. She shared a picture with him on Instagram and wrote, “Zahid Waseem, my father, has passed away. I request everyone to remember him in your prayers and seek Allah’s forgiveness for him. Please pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings, makes his grave a place of comfort, protects him from any punishment, grants him ease in the Hereafter and bestows upon him the highest level of Jannah and grant him Maghfirah (sic).”

Zaira made her debut in Bollywood portraying a young Geeta Phogat in Dangal in 2016. She then starred as an aspiring singer in Secret Superstar. She was last seen in The Sky Is Pink. In 2019, she announced through social media about quitting the film industry.

Former actor Zaira Wasim recently revealed that her father, Zahid Wasim, had died on Tuesday.

Taking to social media, Zaira posted a childhood picture of herself and her dad and wrote, “My father, Zahid Wasim, has passed away. Please remember him in your prayers and ask Allah to forgive his shortcomings, make his grave peaceful, protect him from its torment, ease his journey from here ahead and grant him the highest level of Jannah and Maghrirah” she wrote.

The 23-year-old made her Bollywood debut in 2016 at the age of 16, playing a young Geeta Phogat in Dangal. She went on to star in Secret Superstar (2017) alongside actor Aamir Khan but quit acting in 2019.
