Shekhar Suman is one of the latest actors to join the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). On Tuesday, he became a part of the same party as actor Kangana Ranaut, his son, actor Adhyayan Suman’s ex-girlfriend. She will be contesting the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. 

During his induction into BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi, Shekhar was asked if he’d be open to campaigning for Kangana in Mandi. He told IANS, “Agar bulayengi toh kyun nahin jayenge? Yeh toh mera farz hai, aur haq bhi.” 

Kangana and Adhyayan met and fell in love while working for Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2008). The couple had an ugly split after a short period, with Shekhar alleging Kangana performed black magic on Adhyayan.

However, earlier this year, Shekhar extended an olive branch to Kangana in a Zoom interview, stating, “We are not holding on to anything at all. Not the family, not Adhyayan. It was a phase.”
