Years ago, actor Suchitra Pillai was accused for being the reason behind the breakup of her now husband, actor Lars Kjeldsen, and actor Preity G Zinta. But in a recent conversation with television host and presenter Siddharth Kannan, Pillai clarified that she began dating Kjeldsen only after the latter separated from Zinta, who has been married to financial analyst Gene Goodenough since 2016.

“Preity and I were never friends. Yes, Lars did date her for some time but they broke up before he met me. I didn’t come between them, they split up for a totally different reason,” she told Kannan.

Pillai, who tied the knot with Kjeldsen in 2005 also revealed how she was labelled as a “boyfriend snatcher” for her ties with Andrew Coyne. “I was called a ‘boyfriend snatcher’ on the cover of several magazines. At that time, headlines read, ‘Suchitra Pillai is a boyfriend snatcher’.”

“It was because I started dating Coyne, who had started Star Television in India. This was the relationship in question, but it was not because of me that Andrew and his partner, model Achala Sachdev fell apart,” she added.
