Actor-singer Sushant Divgikr, who experienced a horrific incident after their house in Bandra, Mumbai caught fire on Saturday evening, is still reeling from the shock.

“The air conditioner in the living room burst and there was instant fire. We tried to put it out, but the fire spread and caught on to furniture,” they say, calling the incident “scary”. “If it would have reached my gas line, the whole building would have gone.” they add.

The actor, who was last seen in Thank You For Coming (2023), adds that it was “miraculous” that everyone escaped unharmed. “All of us were in the house at the time, including my mother, sister-in-law, niece, manager and house help. I was scared about my mother because she had a ligament tear,” the 33-year-old continues, “The fire brigade came as soon as they could.”

While Divgikr is relieved that the situation was quickly brought under control, they are “heartbroken” that the fire cost them precious memories.

“Of all the things I put up in the house, 85% was reduced to ashes. My awards, important documents, my memories — everything is gone. Chatt hi gir gayi!” the actor tells us.

Divgikr admits that moving on will take some time: “It’s so traumatic, but materialistic things can be built again. I might need therapy to recover from this trauma. I’m currently living in a hotel and am trying to find a house to rent temporarily,” they conclude.
