On Eid today, actor Zareen Khan has not one, but multiple reasons to celebrate. The actor, who had been worried about her mother’s ailing health for the past many months, is relieved that the latter is on the road to recovery.

“By the grace of God, my mum is doing much better than she was some time ago,” the 1921 (2018) actor tells us about her mother, who had to be hospitalized multiple times due to her illness. “It has been a very difficult and consuming journey for us to see her in so much pain. And it was even more difficult for her, who had to go through all of that,” Khan adds.

But, the actor is glad her family is past that and would be able to celebrate the festival together, like every year. She shares, “I have been celebrating Eid at home with my mum and sister for the past few years. Before my nana’s (grandfather) demise, he used to be part of the celebrations too as our other family members used to come and visit us for lunch. And that has been the case till now,” Khan tells us, adding that she feels happy and grateful that this year too, her mother would be able to do what she loves doing: Cook for her loved ones.

“Even though she is not completely alright, she is doing much better now. She has been very active during Ramadan, too, trying to cook a few dishes for us. Her favourite thing is to cook. And she will be doing that for us on Eid as well,” the actor wraps up.
