DO AUR DO PYAAR collected around 50-55 lakhs on the opening day which is probably par for the course for a film of this zone which is an urban drama with limited music, comedy or other entertainment factors. The comparable film for this is probably LAAPATAA LADIES but that probably had some female following in the high ends to enable to get a run for a few weeks on low collections.

The collections on day one here are 25-30% lower than LAAPATAA LADIES which itself hardly broke out and just ran at low levels from its 75 lakh day start. It means that this film will not do the same numbers as LAAPATAA LADIES.

DO AUR DO PYAAR has managed to easily beat its main competitor LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA 2 which collected hardly 15 lakhs nett. This is a sequel to LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA which released in 2010 and had done pretty well opening at 1.15 crore nett and going on to do around 8.50 crore nett.

But today, things have changed and this sort of cinema has no takers whatsoever. The film seens to have this transgender, gay or lesbian theme in the film and to put this into words, a minimal percentage of the population belongs to this category. The regular audience is not interested in this sort of stuff but it still remains prevalent in the film industry.
