SHAITAAN scored a fantastic weekend with collections of 54.50 crore nett over its first three days. The film did not grow much on Sunday but this was normal as holdover releases also did not get the growth they should have got. This is probably down to huge growth on Saturday post the Mahashivratri holiday and it was also the start of Ramazan on Sunday.

The collections are around 6-7 crore nett down on DRISHYAM 2 but a huge chunk of this shortfall is down to Gujarat as the film is a remake of a Gujrati film. As a result, the collections there are lower than they should be. The film is practically all in one house and if you consider this, then the collections in circuits like East Punjab, Rajasthan, CP Berar and CI are just outstanding as its batting way above it should in these markets especially going by how they behaved post pandemic.

The collections on Sunday in CP Berar were not that far off the collections of FIGHTER on Republic Day which pretty much puts the success of this film into perspective. The overseas business should come in near the $2 million range which is also good for this genre. It has picked up around 80 crore worldwide in its first weekend.

The weekday business should confirm the HIT status of the and although there will be competition in March, if this film can really hold on weekdays, then that will hardly matter.

The three day collections of SHAITAAN are as follows.
Friday - 15,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 19,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 20,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 54,50,00,000 apprx
