Dange is directed by Bejoy Nambiar, of Shaitan fame. He is known for his stylish treatment and with this film, he goes to another level. A few scenes are helmed in a superb manner and there's a 15-20 minute-long sequence that is presented as if it's shot in one take. It'll leave viewers awed. Sadly, the impact is minimal as there are too many subplots, some of which don't seem necessary. One of the love tracks has no chemistry. Also, the director tries to balance between two main tracks - one of friends turning foes and one of college politics. In doing so, he falters and the film suffers. Harshvardhan Rane shines and there's no doubt that he's a powerhouse performer. Ehan Bhat and T J Bhanu put their best feet forward but are let down by the script. Nikita Dutta, on the other hand, is impressive. Taniya Kalrra (Ambika) and Zoa Morani (Siddhi) leave a mark. Keshav Lokwani (Bala), Ruchi Malviya (Ritu), Mridul Das (Arjun) and Shreema Upadhyaya (Bhama) lend able support. All in all, Dange fails at the level of script but is still, an average fare due to the stylish narration and Harshvardhan Rane's performance.
My rating - ** ½ out of 5!
