Lyricist-composer Yashraj Mukhate, who got married on Wednesday, feels “calm and peaceful” and isn’t expecting things to change for him as a married man. “We have been dating for a while now and share the most comfortable bond. We can sit in a room in complete silence for hours and be absolutely comfortable with it,” says the 28-year-old music producer, best-known for his viral musical parody videos such as Rasode Mein Kaun Tha, Paawri Ho Rahi Hai and Biggini Shoot, in his first interview after his wedding.
Mukhate got married to his long-time partner Alpana Bondekar, architect-turned-entrepreneur, dressed in typical Maharashtrian attire, opting for a “small wedding”. “We mutually decided to only have our family and friends [attend] as we wanted to keep it private. We even designed the wedding card ourselves!” Mukhate tells us.
Dropping “two major collabs” in a day to mark the occasion, he also released a new song, Mann Dhaaga. This is the musician’s first “big collaboration” with established names such as singers Amit Trivedi and Jasleen Royal.
“I had this tune with me for a very long time and I wanted to make a song that would have a calm and warm feeling to it,” he shares, adding, “I shared it with Jasleen Royal to see if she liked it, and fortunately, she did. We didn’t have any lyrics, so Jasleen asked Anvitaa Dutt ma’am, who agreed to write the lyrics. I reached out to Amit Trivedi sir, who also agreed to lend his voice.”
