MERRY CHRISTMAS collected 8.25 crore nett in its first weekend aided by good growth on Saturday but the wider audience did not really come on Sunday and collections remained pretty flat on Sunday. The film is a niche film for the metros and this was sort of expected. On top of it, HANUMAN is the main film for audiences outside metros.

The film is now depending on the hold on Monday though and there will be holidays in various states over the week to help the film sail though a little but the film really needed a bigger jump on Sunday. There are some circuits where HANUMAN is doing 3 times the business on Sunday and even a multiplex dominated Punjab is double. 

The three day collections of MERRY CHRISTMAS are as follows.

Friday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

HANUMAN (Hindi) goes from strength to strength as it shows huge growth on Sunday again after the big gains on Saturday. The film has found acceptance among the audience and the film is doing well everywhere. The bigger multiplexes were less to start off with but the family audiences turned up here on Sunday as well.

The weekend collections of the film were 11.50 crore nett and the film is on course to emerge a HIT as collections will hold on Monday and it should go on a run from here for a few weeks. The fact that all circuits have good numbers on Sunday is a plus though maybe East (outside Odisha) could have bene better. The film is working on sentiments.
