Salaar Advance Booking: Prabhas' Film Lags Behind Dunki In Day 1 Ticket Sales
Box Office India Trade Network

SALAAR had a good first day as it collected 15.50 crore nett in Hindi all over India on the first day which compares well with RRR (Hindi) which was a little over 19 crore nett. But RRR was a solo release and came with good promotion before release with many units. Here, the makers left it very late with a proper trailer only a few days before release. That was a god send as just not in terms of film reaching the audience but also getting screens as it would have been difficult on the units before which had left the film very cold.

The film had good start at places in the morning while others were so so. It was all good by the day had ended as those places which started low had picked up. The film opened to higher numbers than DUNKI did on day one in Gujarat, Rajasthan, CP Berar, Bihar and Odisha and the film does have appreciation in the Hindi belts.

The traditionally weaker areas for dubbed South films like East Punjab and West Bengal picked up well as they collected 1.35 crore nett and 75 lakhs nett respectively and these markets getting these numbers with the competition of DUNKI are a good sign for the film in the long run as they are on board from the first day itself.

The film maybe could have done better in the bigger multiplexes but that was going to be difficult as DUNKI would be first choice. Yet, the collections in areas dominated by the bigger multiplexes have still come out pretty good and there is a lot of upside here which can take the collections higher.

The film saw extraordinary collections in the South especially Nizam/Andhra and Mysore (a phenomenal 9.6 crore nett day all versions). If we take all versions of the film, then the opening will be the highest of the year probably in the 85 crore nett range beating the likes of JAWAN and ADIPURUSH which were around 70 crore nett plus (all formats).
