Safed Actor Meera Chopra has claimed that her cousins, actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Parineeti Chopra, have “never helped her” and that the feeling of “sisterhood” between her and the two is somehow missing.

“From the beginning, there wasn’t enough closeness between us for us to look like friends here. That would be fake,” Meera told host Siddharth Kannan in an interview, adding, “But I can say that when three or four girls join the industry, they help each other. That did not happen to me. I am not one to ask for help and even they never offered any.”

Meera, who made her acting debut with the Tamil film Anbe Aaruyire (2005) a couple of years after Priyanka had made hers in The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy (2003), shared that they were all once part of a “joint family” before adding, “Jab koi bahut bada ho jata hai toh baaki log chhote lagte hain.”

Meera went on to share that she has a good rapport with Priyanka but with Parineeti, the bond is missing somehow. “When families don’t talk, I don’t want to cross [a boundary] that will hurt my family. I am still very close to Priyanka’s family. They all wish very well for me. Priyanka has always been very generous, but the sisterhood is missing, but not from my side.”
