Muskan Bamne aka Paakhi from Anupamaa has quit the show after three years, we have learnt exclusively. The actor tells us, “I am no longer a part of it. I just got a confirmation from the makers.”
Ask the reason behind her exit and the 24-year old says, “The makers are introducing a track in which I am supposed to play a mother. They want to show my baby, who’d be born through IVF. But I didn’t want to do it, as I am too young for that. So, we decided to part ways.”
Bamne continues, “I want to explore a lot more. Usually, if you do a role like that (play a mother), the possibility of getting similar characters later in your career increases. So, I did not want to take that risk.” However, the actor is full of gratitude, as the show gave a push to her career. “I was a part of the show for three years and I am thankful for the opportunity. It was because of this role that I became a household name. I got to learn a lot on the set,” she shares, adding, “Now, I am hoping to get another good project.”
Talking about the kind of work she wants to do, Bamne says, “I am looking for a lead role, because I don’t want to let the name I’ve earned in the last three years go waste. I am open to work in any medium — OTT, films or TV.”

Muskan Bamne has quit Anupamaa. The TV show has taken a five-year leap and Muskan did not want to play mother on screen. We have got to know that Chandni Bhagwanani will take her place now and play the new Pakhi in the show. Chandni was last seen in the TV show Sindoor Ki Keemat. She has earlier been part of shows like Imlie, Santoshi Maa, Khidki and Mahakali.
While Chandni could not be reached, Muskan told us, “I could not imagine myself playing a mother; I am only 24. It was a tough decision to take, but I had to do it. I have been part of Anupamaa for three years and it has been a great journey.”
Muskan, who has earlier been part of shows like Super Sisters and Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot, and films like Haseena Parkar and Helicopter Eela, shared that she is not keen to play lead roles. She said, “Anupamaa had huge scope for me as an actor and my character had many shades. Despite doing films, I was recognised only after I did Anupamaa. I will miss everyone from the show, especially Toshubhai (Aashish K Mehrotra). He was a good co-actor and we formed a good bond.”
Muskan also penned a note for her co-actors on social media account about how she would miss the entire team. Muskan played the daughter of Anupama and Vanraj (Sudhanshu Pandey) in the TV show. Her character was shown to be married to her co-actor Adhik Mehta.
