Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon is a musical stage show featuring Javed Akhtar, Meiyang Chang and Jahnvi Shrimankar (of Gangubai Kathiawadi’s ‘Dholida’ fame). Presented by Saregama, the show features Javed Akhtar narrating never-before-heard accounts behind some of the classic songs that he wrote. The format is simple – Javed saab recounts the trivia of a song and the same song would then be sung by Meiyang Chang and Jahnvi Shrimankar. Javed Akhtar’s narrative style is immersive and funny and he brings the house down. At times, he would narrate the whole story without mentioning which song he is talking about. For certain songs, it is easy to guess but the revelation of some of the songs took the audience by surprise. Meiyang Chang and Jahnvi Shrimankar, too, performed beautifully and kudos also to the live band members. The show has no dull moment and keeps the viewers mesmerized and thoroughly entertained. All in all, Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon shouldn’t be missed at any cost, if you are a lover of Bollywood songs and films. Here’s hoping Saregrama organizes many more of its shows as this should reach out to people across the country and also the world.
