A special court on Wednesday directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return the passports of four accused persons including actor Rhea Chakraborty, who was booked in a drugs case filed by the agency after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, allowing their separate applications with permission to travel overseas.

The court allowed the applications of Chakraborty, Karamjeet Singh Anand, Samuel Miranda and Paul Bartels.

Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 in connection with the drugs case filed by the central agency and was granted bail in October 2020. Among the conditions of her bail was that she seek permission from court before traveling out of the country.

The court permitted her travel for a week to Dubai with conditions including surrendering her passport after her return. Last year, in June 2022, too, she had been permitted to go to Abu Dhabi for a film award but she had given it up stating that she was not aware that a lookout notice was issued by an agency against her.
