Animal Box Office Collection Day 21: Keeping Up With Ranbir Kapoor's Film

ANIMAL took its total to a phenomenal 83 crore nett in Nizam/Andhra after twenty two days in all formats. The Telugu version is at 42 crore nett while the Hindi version has also crossed 40 crore nett. The Telugu version comfortably beat the 30 crore nett number of JAWAN and now the Hindi version has also become the highest grosser in the circuit ever beating the numbers of both JAWAN and PATHAAN and the first film to over 40 crore nett in Hindi.

The run of the film is likely to be practically over in this circuit on Friday with the release of SALAAR. There will be a drop on Thursday when DUNKI releases with SALAAR which will be heavy in the circuit, the collections will be very limited. It probably means a finish at around 85 crore nett for the film in the circuit.

The previous best non South films are AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER at 70 crore nett and JAWAN at 68 crore nett. The collections of 85 core nett for ANIMAL probably puts it among the top 20-25 films ever in the circuit and that includes all local Telugu releases.

ANIMAL continues to hold collections very well on the weekdays of its third week as collected another 5 crore nett on Tuesday to take the third week total to 43.50 crore nett. The film should score another good day on Wednesday but post that, the collections will be a struggle due to the heavy competition.

The third week of the film should manage around 50 crore nett plus collections and only BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUCION, GADAR 2 and JAWAN have managed to hit 50 crore nett in the third week.  The overall collections presently stand at around 462 crore nett and by the end of the week it should be close to 470 crore nett.

The release of DUNKI and SALAAR was always going to be the obstacle in the way of its journey towards the 500 crore nett mark as there is not enough screen space to accommodate those two films; hence, it does not leave much to the holdover films. The 500 crore nett benchmark probably depends on whether one of the new releases sustain. If that happens, then the 500 crore nett mark will be tough although the film has achieved that in all formats with collections over 510 crore nett.

ANIMAL scored an excellent third week as it picked up 50 crore nett which will be either third or forth highest ever. The hold is very strong in week three despite the film not pushing up on Sunday and having a shortened third week with the release of DUNKI hitting collections on Thursday.

The total collections of the film are now close to 470 crore nett but from here on, it all depends on how DUNKI and SALAAR fare if ANIMAL is to add anything substantial in the next few weeks. Irrespective of what happens from here on, the film has put up phenomenal numbers and in the core mass areas it is only second to GADAR 2 and in parts of South it has beaten then the likes of PATHAAN and JAWAN

The business of the film in all languages is around 517 crore nett and in this way it could beat PATHAAN which ended at around 530 crore nett though the JAWAN number of 610 crore nett are far too ahead.
