Actor Aahana S Kumra was “overwhelmed” when she got a chance to meet English football legend David Beckham at an event in Mumbai recently.

“He was in India for a very short trip and made time to meet so many people. After our meeting and interaction, I found that he is such a polite and gracious person, whose family is at the core of his heart,” she tells us.

During his trip to India as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Beckham took some time out to watch the ICC Men’s World Cup semi-final match and even attended a filmy party. “It’s impressive how he managed to do so much during a short trip. He also went to the villages and met young girls. He expressed how he was very touched and impressed with the confidence that young girls in India have,” says the 38-year-old, adding, “He spoke very fondly about the country, saying it is his first time here, and how he’s going to visit again.”

This is something that makes the Indian in her extremely proud. “I’m glad that international legends are coming to India, seeing the country in a different light, noticing how confident our youth is and how open we are to welcoming people,” she ends.
