GANAPATH collected just 2 crore nett apprx on its second day which is down from a disastrous first day. The film has gone from bad to worse. Although its fate was written even before the first show commenced, you would not expect a drop after such low first day collections. Actions films don't grow much but from these levels, the film could have ticked upwards.

The film is an epic disaster theatrically all over and that includes overseas where its a haphazard release but not that a better release would make any difference. The film has collected 4.25 crore nett in two days and the weekend is likely to be under 7 crore nett or at best 7 crore nett.

GANAPATH is one of those UK rebate films and so many of these are made from small films to bigger films where a 25 crore film is shown to be made for 40 crore and a 125 crore film will be shown to be made for 200 crore so the numbers work out with non theatrical and the big rebate. But if we look at the last ten years how many of these UK rebate films have actually worked theatrically and outside the HOUSEFULL series, its hard to recall any. There may be one or two here or there but it is very minimal against the number of films made in the UK and it is all done for the rebate. Eventually results like this hurt the talent involved in the film.

GANAPATH collected around 6.50 crore nett over its first weekend and that number itself tells the story. Post pandemic, there have been so many bad performers but this has to be worst of the lot. No one had any interest to watch the film despite it having a budget and action.

The film had limited growth on Sunday and though the cricket match was there, LEO (Hindi) managed to show a decent upturn. The film will no doubt go down further on Monday and the first week may struggle to get to the 10 crore nett mark. Maybe even the unthinkable can happen with lifetime of under 10 crore nett though if theatres keep it in a show or two in week two, it should at least manage to avoid this dishonour.
