Vidya Balan was recently spotted at the airport with a young girl in tow. A paparazzi account posted a video of the actor along with the girl and captioned it, “Vidya Balan with her cute daughter”. This sparked rumours of Balan having a daughter, who she kept away from the public eye. Some users praised her ability to keep her child away from the public glare.

HT City spoke to the actor, who told us, “That is my sister’s daughter Ira, who has a twin brother Ruhaan.”

The 44-year-old, who is married to producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, dotes on her niblings like a mother. The actor has always been vocal about her love for them and calls them her “twin lifelines”. Balan will next be seen in Lovers co-starring Ileana D’Cruz and Pratik Gandhi.
