12th Fail, based on true events, is the story of a poor villager, who aspires to become an IPS officer. Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra has given it a 'film festival' type treatment. Yet, it's not boring. In fact, it's nearly 2 ½ hours long and yet doesn't feel lengthy. A few scenes are memorable. But the best is reserved for the finale; it's very touching. Vikrant Massey delivers the best performance of his career. He proves that given an opportunity, he can rock the show. Medha Shankar (Shraddha) is lovely. Anshuman Pushkar (Gauri bhaiyya) is adorable while Vijay Joshi (Pritam Pandey) is likeable. Priyanshu Chatterjee wins hearts with his cameo appearance. Sarita Joshi is cute. All in all, 12th Fail is a well-made inspiring saga.
