Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma alerted his fans, on Wednesday, about a fake advertisement that has been circulating on social media. The ad claims to be selling tickets for his TV show, The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS), for Rs. 4,999 with a free drink and popcorn.
Responding to a fan who tagged him to verify if the ad was genuine, Sharma wrote on X that the show doesn’t charge a “single penny” from audiences. “This used to happen earlier as well... It’s like a ritual for fraudsters when the show goes on a break. But, we give a disclaimer after every episode to protect them (viewers),” a source close to the development tells us, adding that a woman was once fooled into paying ₹40,000 for tickets.
He reveals that the audience is selected “on the basis of a guest list”, adding, “There are team references or fan clubs of actors and Kapil himself. It is all free for them.”
