Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' Screened At Handwara Cinema Hall In J&K
Box Office India Trade Network

JAWAN had a fantastic hold on Monday with collections dropping around 35% from Friday and this is despite collections slowing down later on in the day as the big cricket match got going. The film is aided by better holds in the Hindi mass circuits like UP, CI, Bihar and Rajasthan where collections are just 50% lower from day one and 30% down from the Friday. These mass markets do tend to hold better on Monday.

These are the areas which could have performed better over the weekend while South, which was extraordinary over the weekend has seen bigger drops, which was expected. Still a circuit like Mysore was comfortably above the 2 crore nett mark which is unheard of for a Monday. This circuit is sure to beat the record of PATHAAN which was pretty crazy and 30% more than any other film.

The film has collected 278 crore nett so far and is probably looking at first week collections looking in the 340-350 crore nett range depending on the falls over the next few days. The film is a BLOCKBUSTER and the second Friday will tell if the film will go towards the 500 crore nett mark. There is a high ratio of business coming from South and hence, there could be some drops until the business comes to a more normal level here.

The collections of Jawan till now are as follows.
Thursday - 65,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 46,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 67,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 70,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 29,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,78,00,00,000 apprx

JAWAN (Hindi) took its total over the 500 crore mark worldwide as it held well across the globe on Monday. The film added a solid $1.75 million overseas on Monday with both Gulf and US/Canada doing around $500k each. This takes the total overseas number to over $22 million but a little bit of this is also in dubbed languages. Like in India, overseas has also seen best results in southern languages though as a ratio, its less than than India.

The film will become the second highest grosser overseas in Hindi in the second weekend as it will easily be over $30 million by Sunday. But the PATHAAN lifetime numbers of $48 million will be tough to chase down mainly due to a huge $5 million lead over the first weekend due to one extra day.

The worldwide number is 516 crore after 5 days and should be 625 crore plus by the end of the week. As far as the worldwide record of PATHAAN is concerned, a lot depends on where India lands as overseas is likely to be less than that film.

The collections of JAWAN worldwide are as follows (in Hindi)
India - 336 Crore (278 nett)
Overseas - 180 crore ($21.75 million)
TOTAL - 516 crore (5 Days)

The worldwide numbers in all formats is as follows
India - 380 Crore (313 nett)
Overseas - 184 crore ($22.25 million)

TOTAL - 564 crore (5 Days)
