Jawan: Why Shah Rukh Khan Ensured Priyamani Danced Next To Him In Zinda Banda - 'She Is My Dance Teacher'
Box Office India Trade Network

JAWAN put up simply unbelievable numbers over its extended four day weekend of 250 crore nett as Sunday again created HISTORY and set a record for the highest collection ever with the 70.50 crore nett mark being breached for the first time. It basically beat its own record set on Saturday. The collections on Sunday were extraordinary all over as even some of those Hindi mass pockets which had been slightly underperforming over three days recorded record or near record numbers.

There was a big cricket match on Sunday which was rained out but it still probably took some numbers away from the film. Otherwise, the film could have added a few crores more. The numbers across all circuits are phenomenal with South leading the way, including in Hindi also. The Tamil and Telugu versions have also scored well collecting over 33 crore nett which is something never seen before for a Hindi film. In all formats, the film is comfortably over the 280 crore nett mark.

Mumbai circuit has also done phenomenally well and this is a circuit which has not really been doing business as it should. The collections in Mumbai circuit in just four days are around 67 crore nett which is historic. Eastern India is also outstanding with West Bengal and Odisha leading the way. The film is set for a strong holiday on Monday and its just a question of where the film lands. It will also take advantage of the open field ahead of it. Its another huge blockbuster after PATHAAN and GADAR 2 already this year.

The business of JAWAN (Hindi) over the first four days is as follows.
Thursday - 65,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 46,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 67,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 70,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,48,50,00,000
---------------------------------
JAWAN has also smashed the box office overseas with collections of $20.50 million over the extended four day first weekend. PATHAAN had a five day weekend and it did $25.50 million but the three day numbers of the film are going to be every similar with PATHAAN at $16.50 million and JAWAN in a similar range.

But the fact is that PATHAAN is a huge $5 million ahead by the end of the first weekend and in Overseas this is far too high of an number for a film to cover after the initial weekend. In India it is different as GADAR 2 has shown or will eventually show. The numbers would be even less for JAWAN with a Friday release. So with the insane stardom of Shah Rukh Khan in overseas, it is now hard to see a normal Friday release for Shah Rukh Khan due to the shortfall in business a three day weekend will leave.

JAWAN got a15 certificate in many countries including UK and Australia which has affected the film even though numbers are huge and only second to PATHAAN. The best performance is in Gulf as the four day numbers are higher than the first four days of PATHAAN though obviously even here PATHAAN had the higher number for the whole weekend due to the extra day. The film is set to put up a mammoth overseas number though will stay below PATHAAN by 15-20%.

The Overseas collections of JAWAN are as follows.
United Kingdom - £1,300,000 ($1,650,000) apprx
US/Canada - $7,500,000 apprx
Gulf - $7,000,000 apprx
Australia - A$2.100,000 ($1,350,000) apprx
Rest Of The World - $3,000,000 apprx
TOTAL - $20,500,000 apprx (INR 170 crore)
---------------------------------
JAWAN (Hindi) amassed a huge 466 crore worldwide over four days which compares well with the 533 crore figure of PATHAAN (Hindi) over five days. A five day weekend here for JAWAN will have meant a worldwide total higher than PATHAAN as overseas may have fallen a little short but India would have been higher.

The numbers are so huge that even within just four days, the film is among the top fifteen worldwide grossers and at the end of week one it is sure to be among the top five of all time and it is just about whether it can challenge PATHAAN which is the highest worldwide grosser ever.

The worldwide total for the film in all formats topped the 500 crore mark with 512.50 crore as the regional versions contributed around 46 crore GROSS across the world.

The collections of JAWAN worldwide are as follows (in Hindi)
India - 300.50 Crore (248.50 nett)
Overseas - 166 crore ($20 million)
TOTAL - 466.50 crore

The worldwide numbers in all formats is as follows (in all formats)
India - 342.50 Crore (282 nett)
Overseas - 170 crore ($20.50 million)
TOTAL - 512.50 crore
