ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI has held up well on its second Friday with collections of 6.50 crore nett apprx. The second Friday number is the third best this year after PATHAAN and THE KERALA STORY but there is a big gap to the next best films as the likes of TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR and ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE are much lower.

The collections now stand at around 76.50 crore nett and it will have a shot at 100 crore nett after its second weekend. The jump should be huge on Saturday as the bulk of the business is coming from areas which have big Saturday growth.

The film is going to be pulled through by the metros while business in core Hindi circuits is low and it may even not reach numbers of a much smaller film ZARA HATKE ZARA BACHKE in the likes of CI and Bihar. The other side is that a centre like Gurgaon has racked up numbers only behind PATHAAN and BRAHMASTRA post pandemic for original Hindi content..

The behaviour seen for ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI has not been seen by a big release post pandemic in that there is appreciation in the metros and rejection outside. Basically its on the lines of films like MISSION MANGAL and GULLY BOY. The numbers of MISSION MANGAL went high for a metro film. That was because of the momentum from a national holiday where even the mass circuits got some numbers due to the holiday but it was downhill in these centres after. Also big holidays generally inflate the collections especially for non opening type of films.
