GADAR 2 collected a huge 282 crore nett in week one which is the second highest first week number after PATHAAN which released earlier this year. The film saw its first noticeable drop on the last day of the first week but the holiday period was over and the film came down to more normal levels. Despite doing huge business over the week, the Thursday number was still more than 50% of the first day.

There drop was bigger in Mumbai circuit as the film has racked up huge numbers in the circuit Mon - Wed with the holiday period continuing till Wednesday. The numbers were still at very high levels in the Hindi circuits as both CI and Bihar were a 1 crore nett plus which has never happened before that both these circuits hit 1 crore nett on the last day of the first week.

The film is likely to have set new first week highs in some circuits especially the Hindi circuits. Here many of the records stand with KGF - CHAPTER 2 and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION despite PATHAAN having the all India first week record. Hopefully, GADAR 2 has knocked the South films of top spot for the first week. 

GADAR 2 is one of the blockbusters ever in the history of cinema in India and now it remains to be seen where the final numbers land for the film. It is the first time that a franchise has seen two releases and both are ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTERS with the first part among the greatest films India has ever seen.

GADAR 2 continues to simply destroy box office records as it collected a huge 20 crore nett on its second Friday. This is the highest total of all time for a second Friday and only BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION has collected something like this on the second Friday. 

The holds are outstanding practically everywhere though Maharashtra maybe could have held better. The film underperformed in South and West Bengal in week one compared with the rest of the country but even here the holds are great. In the core Hindi circuits, it is just mass hysteria as the film sees extraordinary holds with collections at very high levels. Gujarat/Saurashtra is on a run and it is sure to be the second film to cross 50 crore nett in the state and will actually go much higher than 50 crore nett and maybe even beat the numbers of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION. More than the collections, these sort of holds in Gujarat ensure that the film is going to put up strong all India collections for sometime.

The collections stand at 302 crore nett after eight days and the 400 crore nett mark is also not too far for the film and will probably be done by the end of the second week. On a side note the film has only cost 70 crore to produce and release making it an insane money spinner as it will be no surprise if the theatrical share in India goes to the 250 crore mark. Even the overseas business is a huge surprise as nothing much was expected due to a huge chunk of the audience being Muslim there and that too from outside India. Yet, $4 million is up on the board already. The film held up very strongly from Monday onward in overseas.
