Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 4: Sunny Deol's Film Continues Its 'Dream Run' On First Monday
Box Office India Trade Network

GADAR 2 is simply on a remarkable run as it gets close to the 40 crore nett mark on Monday. The film collected 38.50 crore nett and there were circuits which were better than Friday. The biggest circuit Mumbai could well come out as one of the circuits higher than Friday. The total collections of the film so far are 171 crore nett and there is a lot more to come.

It was not a holiday on Monday but it would have played out like a minor holiday as it was sandwiched between Sunday and Independence Day. The craze of the film is unparalleled as many singles screens already see lifetime record numbers in just four days. This has a lot to do with the fact that such a rural heartland action film like this has probably not been since GADAR - EK PREM KATHA in 2001. The rustic content has mainly come from South and that too just recently but they lack dialogues though they have bigger production values.

This craze to watch a film has also not been seen since GADAR - EK PREM KATHA as the public book tickets in cities 20-30 km away when tickets are not available in their own city. This happened with GADAR - EK PREM KATHA and was regular occurrence in the 60's, 70's and 80's. But then films also released on far less screens and it was staggered release with some circuits opening before others.

The appreciation for the film is universal and across the board (barring some of the English Mumbai media) and very few films find this sort of acceptance with all sections of the public.

The collections of GADAR 2 are as follows.
Friday - 39,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 41,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 52,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 38,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,71,00,00,000 apprx
--------------------------------------
GADAR 2 recorded the second highest Monday of all time and the highest non holiday of all time though it can be called a sort of holiday as the national holiday on Tuesday makes its a long weekend though officially it is not a holiday.

The top collections on the first Monday are for BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and GADAR 2 has fallen a little short of that. There are only two other films with a 30 crore nett plus Monday (TIGER ZINDA HAI and HOUSEFULL 4) but both had their respective Mondays fall on a national holiday. The highest non holiday Monday of all time is KGF - CHAPTER 2 with around 25 crore nett and GADAR 2 is way ahead of that.

A Tuesday of GADAR 2 will fall on a national holiday and here the film will obilerate all box office records and smash all first Tuesday records by a huge distance.
