DREAM GIRL 2 showed a good jump in business on day two with a jump of around 40% as it collected 13.75 crore nett on day two taking its two day total to 23.75 crore nett. The film is scoring well in places like Delhi/UP, Rajasthan and CI and even East Punjab is good considering the Punjabi film MASTANEY which is doing extremely well in the circuit.

Basically the job is done on Saturday and the film has got the needed growth. Now its about the Monday hold and the film has chances of becoming a HIT if it can hold well on the Monday. There are areas where the film is not doing so well like Mumbai/Gujarat and Eastern India and here the drag act or a conservative audience is probably holding it back.

Still the film is coming off disastrous run for Ayushmann Khurrana and generally its this comedy genre which has worked for his films. Going forward, the male leads will have to fit into either action or comedy zones as mass audiences come for these genres and luckily for Ayushmann Khurrana, he seems to be fitting into comedy though obviously it can do without the unconventional gay/lesbian /sex stuff as it restricts family audiences in many states.

Coming back to DREAM GIRL 2, it should see some solid growth again on Sunday which takes its towards the 40 crore nett mark for the weekend. Then it remains to be seen whether the film is a success or goes on to emerge a HIT.
