GADAR 2 had an extraordinary weekend as it collected 132 crore nett plus with a huge 52 crore nett on Sunday. The Sunday was just havoc across the country as places which may have been under performing a little came on board as well. This is all comparatively as if we go by what the film needed, it was outstanding all over.

This collections in mass centres and single screens are simply historic and at a level never seen by any other film. Till date KGF - CHAPTER 2 was the biggest in single screens and while that remains the case in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha, elsewhere GADAR 2 has broken its record. The multiplex business is lesser than the other bigger films due to not having the market to itself due to the release of OMG 2. Showcasing in multiplexes would be far better if the film was solo.

Still this hardly matters as the film has huge appreciation and when that is there, the numbers come. The film is a sequel to one of the greatest films to be made in India. Hence, the public which ran in hordes to watch the film had huge expectations, and the film has actually lived up to their expectations which is a rarity in cinema. This is actually the unthinkable side of the film that you make a sequel to one of the greatest films your country has ever seen and fair enough it gets a huge initial due to this but then the content also matches the insane expectations. This is the VICTORY of GADAR 2.

The film is simply unstoppable and is going to run riot at the box office for sometime and the makers have hit pay dirt.

Friday - 39,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 41,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 52,00,00,000 apprx

GADAR 2 has gone bonkers on Sunday as it will collect in the 52-53 crore nett range. The growth on Sunday will come out to be over 25% which is extraordinary for a film which is already collecting such high numbers.

The weekend numbers of the film will come out to be a huge 132-134 crore nett and this is with another film running which itself will do 38-39 crore nett. The craze of the film is such that if it was a solo release, you could easily add another 25-30 crore nett for the weekend.

The film will be setting many centre and theatres record in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan, CI, Bihar and Gujarat/Saurashtra and there may well the highest single day daily collections in some of these circuits. The appreciation for the film is at a crazy level and there is a lot of time for the film to set many records. The advances is superb for Monday and there will be no stopping this colossal film.

GADAR - EK PREM KATHA created history in a different era but nothing much has changed twenty two years later as GADAR 2 is on its way to create history.

The craze for GADAR 2 can be seen from the numbers below of a run down cinema in Ludhiana which hardly collects. Preet Palace in Ludhiana used to be one of the main single screen in the city but today it has become a cinema where most films will not even collect 10k in a week and the biggest blockbusters may get to 70-75k in the first week. Although Ludhiana is an A centre, the cinema here is pretty much like a rundown small cinema in a C centre.

In this cinema, GADAR 2 has collected 1.5 lakhs on Sunday alone. This is what is happening with this film across the Hindi mass markets. Cinemas which were just forgotten about are actually giving collections and this was not seen with BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION, KGF - CHAPTER 2 or PATHAAN. The films from the South had been stronger with the mass in Maharashtra but on Sunday, GADAR 2 has caught up in those markets as well.

When these cinemas collect, it means something is happening as the bigger cinemas have a clientele anyway which will come when a film is a good. To get the public into these Preet Palace type of cinemas is a different story altogether and the movie has to be special. As has been mentioned before, when those bottom 1000 cinemas collect for a film in the distributors excel, then nothing can stop the film.
