Satyaprem Ki Katha’s first half is decent and has its share of funny and dramatic moments. However, the second half is quite strong and leaves an impact. Thankfully, the trailer doesn’t reveal what the conflict in the story is. Director Sameer Vidwans handles the plot sensitively and ends the film on a justified note. On the flipside, a few developments are not convincing. Also, the film seems lengthy. Songs are fine but not of chartbuster variety, except ‘Aaj Ke Baad’. Speaking of performances, Kartik Aaryan shows an improvement as an actor. Viewers are sure to love him like never before in this film. Kiara Advani, too, delivers a fine performance. She plays a challenging character effortlessly. Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak Kapur are dependable. Siddharth Randeria (Katha’s father) leaves a huge mark. Nirrmite Saawaant (Christmas Masi) is too good in a cameo. Rajpal Yadav is funny as always. Shikha Talsania and Anooradha Patel (Rasna) are okay. All in all, Satyaprem Ki Katha is a well-made saga with a great message. Worth watching!
