Bloody Daddy, which has released today on Jio Cinema, starts on a rocking note. The action scene sets the mood. The conflict is well-defined and the various happenings in the first half take the film many notches higher. Sadly, the film goes flat in the second half. It is unimaginative and the climax is devoid of any excitement. Bloody Daddy is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has handled films like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, Jogi etc quite effectively. Even here, he shows his brilliance but sadly, is let down by the script in the second half. Speaking of performances, Shahid Kapoor looks dashing and delivers a rocking performance. He completely looks convincing as the ‘bloody daddy’ who can go to any lengths for his family. Ronit Roy and Sanjay Kapoor induce fear and laughter perfectly as per the requirement. Rajeev Khandelwal is okay but scores with his sarcastic dialogues. Diana Penty does fine but her character isn’t neatly fleshed out. Sartaaj Kakkar (Atharv), Zeishan Quadri (Jaggi), Vikram Mehra (Bunty; newly joined bartender), Vivan Bhathena (Danny) and Ankur Bhatia (Vicky) do well in the supporting roles. Mukesh Bhatt (Rafique) is funny while Anant Manger (Nepalese cook) is lovely. All in all, Bloody Daddy is an average fare at best.
