Recently, it was reported that all is not well between producer Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji. A report by Bollywood Hungama claimed that Mukerji has decided to make Brahmastra parts 2 and 3 under another banner and not collaborate with Johar, leading to speculations.
However, we have learnt that it isn’t true! A source close to both parties told us, “It is a gossip-mongering piece that is trying to create a rift between the two. They still have the same bond as they have had until now. Ayan has given Karan a big hit, and the latter has been a big supporter of him, right from launching him as a director with Wake Up Sid (2009). Brahmastra was a big film, made possible only by the complete faith the two showed in each other.”
It claimed that Mukerji also didn’t tag Johar in his recent post announcing the dates for the sequels, which was true when we checked. The report also stated that the IP rights to Brahmastra lie with Mukerji, which is why he can approach other producers. We reached out to both for a comment, but they were not available.
