R Madhavan has seemingly taken a liking to biopics. The actor, who had acted in and directed Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a biopic of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, has signed yet another biopic with the same production house that is backing his next film, which is to be directed by Mithran R Jawahar.

A source reveals that Maddy will star in a film based on the life of inventor Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, who is fondly known as the ‘Edison of India’.

The makers, have acquired all the necessary permissions to make a biopic on the life and achievements of the scientist, who carved a niche for himself through his innovations and entrepreneurship. Most notably, he had developed India’s first indigenous motor, with D Balasundaram Naidu, in 1937.
