Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Review: Salman Khan Splits Bhaijaan Persona Into 2, Neither Delivers
Box Office India Trade Network

KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN did reasonable business on day one with collections of 13.75-14 crore nett though a Salman Khan starrer should be doing much more as the potential for a huge star now is actually more than before pandemic. The film was looking like a regular film and today these will get regular collections even with the biggest of stars. The best performance for the film in in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Nizam/Andhra.

These pockets have seen the best collections outside PATHAAN, BRAHMASTRA and SOORYAVANSHI post pandemic despite being affected by the last day of Ramazan at many centres and these better collections are mainly down to the Salman Khan factor. There is under performance in metros and circuits like East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore. Take out Nizam/Andhra and its a very dull performance down South. There were expectations in the industry but if the film had got to 15 crore nett, it actually would have been a result considering a similar looking DABANGG 2 had done 22 crore pre pandemic being a franchise and released on a normal day without the Ramazan factor.

The collections will improve over the Eid period but it depends to what level they can go to. The multiplex performance has to improve for the film because on day one, its looking very mass and a single screen type of film. Eid does see a solid performance in most circuits for a few days which will happen with this film also. But the jump in collections depends on how the content is perceived by the audience as its not like before where you had a ready audience over the holidays. Now its a reluctant audience and the film has to bring people in.

There is an open field with no major releases till FAST X in mid May. So. if the film can find some acceptance, it can run well tell then. It wont meet the expectations from a Salman Khan starrer but as for that to happen today, the film has to be bigger to match the star status.
