Bhasker’s look in Mrs Falani modelled on ’60s heroines; actor sports fringe à la Sadhana

The year began on an exciting note for Swara Bhasker, who kicked off the shoot of Mrs Falani in January. She holds Manish Kishore and Madhukar Verma’s directorial offering close to her heart, as it offers her the rare opportunity of playing nine characters.
Now, we hear that one of her avatars in the anthology is inspired by the vintage looks flaunted by ’60s actors Sadhana, and Asha Parekh. Bhasker will be seen sporting a fringe, which had become synonymous with the late Sadhana in her heydays.
Acknowledging that she turned to the yesteryear actors for inspiration when styling her look, Bhasker adds, “Mrs Falani is the most challenging film of my life. Undoubtedly, it is every actor’s dream to play so many different characters in one movie.”
Her characters — varying from the ages of 30 to 42 — will be seen hailing from nine states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Punjab. Each story will revolve around a home-maker, thus exploring a different facet of women’s suppressed aspirations.
Being a part of the film has been an eye-opener for the actor, who says, “I am amazed to [see] the intricacies that change from one home-maker to another every 10 miles.”
